Moving On

Our summer has come to an end. We are headed to Texas early in the morning, and we are so excited to be reunited with Joseph! We are looking forward to getting settled into our new home and starting a new job and kindergarten. But we've had the most wonderful summer and it is hard to leave family after being with them for so long.
We spent a weekend in Star Valley, Wyoming, and it was perfect. We picked peas at my great aunt's house, played with kittens, visited family and friends and enjoyed the beautiful landscape.
Anna also had her third birthday this week. We had a great day and we really love our little lady.
Luckily, we'll be back in less than two months because my big sis is getting married in October! We are so excited, and it is great to know we'll all be together again soon for such a happy thing.
We are so grateful that we've been able to spend the last two months with our families. They helped us and fed us and loved us so much. We will miss everyone, but we are ready to experience life in Texas!!

A Summer To Remember

Our summer has been wonderful so far. We've had so much fun celebrating holidays and birthdays and visiting with friends and family. My dad built a tree house in the backyard and Matthew and Anna prefer to eat all their meals up there and sleep out there when they can. I'm trying to let the kids relax and imagine and explore as much as possible, but we've also had some time to throw some fun activities in, too. We miss Joseph so much, but he is just over halfway done and we'll see him in a couple of weeks! I'm so grateful that we've been able to spend so much time with our families, since we don't see a whole lot of them otherwise. I hope that the kids remember this summer forever.

A Reunion

We had a wonderful family reunion at the end of June. We got to see cousins and aunts and uncles that we haven't seen for years. We played games and ate good food and had a great time.
My sister designed the cute t-shirts that everyone wore while doing a scavenger hunt around the new City Creek mall in Salt Lake. Then we played with water balloons, had a craft raffle, raced goldfish, and had dutch oven cooking for dinner.

It was a happy reunion with people I love.

Time Flies

We've been in Utah for over a month now. We have been digging, weeding, swimming, playing, boating, camping, building, celebrating, and relaxing. It has been so much fun to spend our days with family.
It is also a little strange to be in-between; I have few responsibilities, no church calling, no big to-do list, no address, and no idea what our home and life will be like once we are settled in our next place and on our own again. But we are loving every minute of this extended vacation.
Joseph left last week to drive our car to Texas and find us a home. He is now in Alabama for his 5 week officer training. We miss him like crazy and can't wait to be with him again.
We have family reunions, birthdays, and projects to do in July. We are soaking up all the time with grandparents and cousins. Time is flying by and I have a feeling the summer will be over before we know it!
