Philadelphia

We spent a few days in Philadelphia this week during Joseph's spring break. We saw so many things and had a wonderful time.

first view of Philadelphia --- Love Park

City Hall --- Benjamin Franklin Memorial in the Franklin Institute (which is awesome!)

Benjamin Franklin's grave site --- Elfreth's Alley (the oldest continually inhabited residential street in the country)

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Washington Square --- Independence Hall

Statue of Rocky outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art (the steps he ran up in the movie) --- Logan Square

George Washington Memorial --- Liberty Bell

The weather was beautiful and the trip was just the right length. I love that we live so close to so many things. Where should we go next?

You're getting to do and see so many neat things! It really makes history come to life. What a fun place to live. I'm glad you're getting such a great experience.

How fun! You should get the book, "1,000 Places to See Before You Die." It will give you a great list of places to visit next...especially living where you do! We have it and love it.

So awesome! That is one of the best things about NYC is you are just hours from a completely new place. Ha, you drive for four hours in Utah and you are in Nephi! Four hours from NYC and you are in DC or Boston!

Sadly- the closest we will ever get to most of these places is watching movies like National Treasure. We are so jealous!

That looks like a blast! It makes history not seem so long ago when you can actually visit it. I think Boston is a good next place, or DC. That place makes me happy!
